GOLDIN ASSOCIATES' PROFESSIONALS Gary Polkowitz is experienced at reviewing and evaluating a company's operational performance, advising on strategic alternatives, reviewing cost structures and cash flow requirements and managing the day to day operations of a company. He is an experienced accounting and financial professional who has overseen financial reporting and control, transactional due diligence, forensic financial investigations and audit efforts in many matters. Gary oversaw the finance and accounting departments during the successful restructuring of Syncora Holdings Ltd., a major monoline financial guarantor. Among other responsibilities, he was in charge of the preparation of both the GAAP and statutory financial statements and other public filings with the SEC and insurance regulators. Gary has experience investigating the financial affairs of failed businesses and/or providing due diligence in the financial services industry, including in matters involving Student Finance Corporation, InterBank Funding (a failed merchant bank), Northshore Asset Management, Ardent Research Partners and The Pharmacy Fund. He has overseen the winding down of various companies, including numerous international subsidiaries. He has acted as an expert witness and assisted in the preparation of numerous expert reports. Gary played an instrumental role in Goldin's assignment as restructuring advisor to Vlasic Foods International, where, among other responsibilities, he acted as Vice President for Finance and oversaw the company's international subsidiaries. He directed the day-to-day operation and liquidation of PSINet Consulting Solutions, Russell Stanley Holdings, Inc., InterBank Funding (a failed merchant bank) and Northshore Asset Management and oversaw their numerous domestic and international subsidiaries. He has led the forensic financial investigations for board of directors, trustees or examiners of such companies as PSINet Consulting Solutions, IMPATH, Inc. and Coudert Brothers. Before joining Goldin Associates, Gary was a Vice President at Prudential Securities Inc., where his responsibilities included coordinating due diligence and evaluating, monitoring and minimizing risks associated with the firm's lending activities. Also at Prudential, he assisted in structuring and closing numerous asset-based financing transactions. Earlier, Gary was a manager in the financial services group of Ernst & Young LLP, where he was responsible for planning and supervising audit engagements. Gary is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA). He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Turnaround Management Association, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He received a B.S. in accounting from the University of Delaware. |
