GOLDIN ASSOCIATES' PROFESSIONALS David Pauker is an experienced restructuring advisor and turnaround manager with 20 years of experience advising creditors or financially distressed companies in a broad array of industries. He was Chief Restructuring Officer (“CRO”) of Refco, Inc., a multi-billion dollar financial services company that was one of the largest-ever U.S. bankruptcy filings and was named among the most successful bankruptcy filings of 2006. He managed Refco's global businesses, oversaw its many investments and obtained approval of a bankruptcy plan (as principal confirmation witness) in less than a year. He has acted as chief restructuring officer or interim CEO or COO for numerous underperforming or distressed companies, including Young Broadcasting, one of the largest U.S. television broadcast groups, and VF Brands, a major food company with $900 million in annual sales under the Swanson, Hungry Man, Vlasic and Open Pit brands. VF Brands was named among most successful bankruptcies that year. He was Chief Executive Officer of Pharmacy Fund, a provider of on-line healthcare receivables financing and information processing outsourcing solutions to the retail pharmacy industry. He acted as Chief Operating Officer or Chief Restructuring Officer during the bankruptcies of Grand Court Lifestyles (fifth largest public U.S. operator of independent and assisted living senior housing ), PSINet Consulting Solutions (information technology consulting company focusing on enterprise software solutions, applications development, systems integration and IT outsourcing), Monarch Capital Corporation (holding company with interests in insurance, real estate and investment management), Tuttle Papock (42 convenience stores) and First Interregional Advisors Corp. (equipment leasing company). In addition to his CRO advisory work, David has led many of Goldin’s financial and restructuring advisory assignments, including those involving Airborne, Carlton Cove, Crystal Brands, Drexel Burnham Lambert Trading Corporation, First Capital Holdings, Intermedia Communications (WorldCom), National Amusements (“NAI”) Northwestern Corp., R.A.B. Holdings, Redding Life Care, Residential Capital (“Rescap”), Rockefeller Center Properties, SemGroup, Student Finance Corp., Trump Taj Mahal and United Merchants and Manufacturers and Wood River Capital Management. He advised such firm clients as Royal Indemnity, Wilmington Trust, Amalgamated Life Insurance, GAF, Balfour Investors, Pegasus Investors, Nissho Iwai Corporation and CNA Insurance. He served as a director of Interstate Bakeries Corp., WorldInvest Ltd., Associated Capital Investors, Inc. and Hudson Valley Financial Services. David has overseen many of Goldin’s investigations of troubled companies, including those involving allegations of fraud or improper conduct. Major investigations have included Copperfield Investments, Coudert Brothers, DiLorenzo Properties, Granite Partners, Metromedia Fiber and Student Finance Corp. He has served as court-appointed trustee, examiner or mediator in a number of significant matters. David was named among “Professionals Making Their Mark in 2008” by Turnarounds and Workouts, a professional publication in the restructuring industry that previously named him one of eight “Outstanding Young U.S. Turnaround Managers.” He has spoken and lectured extensively on corporate reorganization and bankruptcy issues. Before joining Goldin Associates, David was a senior aide to Harrison J. Goldin, then Comptroller of The City of New York. He was formerly Executive Vice President of Barclay Knitwear Company, Inc., a New York-based company with interests in soft goods, manufacturing and importing, retailing and real estate.
