GOLDIN ASSOCIATES' PROFESSIONALS Adam Boyd has worked on a wide variety of assignments during his time at Goldin Associates. Most recently, he advised senior lender to a privately held energy distribution company in connection with a successful out-of-court restructuring. He was also responsible for Goldin’s engagement as financial advisor to the official committee of unsecured creditors of SEM Group, a large midstream energy supplier. He has been a principal advisor to a large northeastern university, where he assisted the finance team and board of directors to evaluate program performance and make key strategic decisions to strengthen university finances. The engagement required Goldin to develop sophisticated tools utilizing data from the enterprise software system to generate standardized reports used for long-term planning. Adam developed and used similar tools to assist a large graduate school seeking to improve its operating performance. Adam was a key member of Goldin’s interim management team at Refco, where he was responsible for preparing financial projections and analyses upon which all parties relied in negotiating the court-approved bankruptcy plan. He also assisted in coordinating the Debtor’s vast investigative efforts during the bankruptcy and in overseeing post-closing adjustments and activities involving the sale of Refco’s principal businesses. He was a member of the firm's Enron engagement team for the duration of Goldin’s lengthy involvement representing the interests of ENA creditors. Among other matters, he was responsible for investigating, analyzing and reporting on intercompany cash transfers and expense allocations, for reviewing and reporting on transactions outside the normal course of business and for assessing and valuing various assets in connection with bankruptcy plan negotiations Adam was a member of the Goldin team that successfully contested confirmation of a bankruptcy plan in NorthWestern Corp. and negotiated a substantially enhanced recovery to holders of trust preferred certificates. He helped prepare a detailed valuation of the enterprise, critically evaluated the company’s valuation and prepared litigators to conduct depositions on valuation issues. Among his other engagements, Adam advised CDS creditors in connection with the restructuring of major monoline insurer, advised creditors in matters requiring analyses of loan securitizations and has advised clients in matters requiring valuation of asbestos-related liabilities. Adam holds a B.S. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA). |
