GOLDIN ASSOCIATES' PROFESSIONALS
Karthik Bhavaraju is a credit and corporate finance professional with broad experience in corporate and ABS structured credit, commercial finance and fundamental analysis.
Karthik joined Goldin Associates from Primus Asset Management, an alternative investment firm that invests in corporate and ABS credit risk in the structured credit market using credit derivatives, where he was responsible for developing quantitative investment strategies and models for a $24 billion CDS and CDO portfolio. He assisted senior portfolio managers with fundamental analysis in multiple sectors including financial services, retail, forest products, home builders and energy as well as ABS. In addition, he co-managed rating agency negotiations for various strategic initiatives including capital structure optimization, debt raises, and new investment vehicles and products.
Prior to Primus, Karthik was an Associate Vice President at the National City Bank, where he helped manage a $20B subprime mortgage portfolio. Also at National City, he
evaluated leveraged finance transactions and assessed whole loan portfolio acquisitions for the bank’s proprietary portfolio and researched and executed options trading strategies for the wealth management group.
Before pursuing a career in finance, Karthik spent more than six years in the engineering and technology industry as a consultant specializing in new product development and process optimization and assisting clients in the automotive, aerospace, healthcare, manufacturing and infrastructure industries.
Karthik has an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
