David W. Prager

Managing Director


David W. Prager has broad and deep experience as a financial advisor, restructuring professional and expert witness.  He has  worked with a wide range of constituencies across various industries in both in and out-of-court restructurings and complex commercial litigation matters. 

David's involvement in high-profile company-side matters has included interim management roles, including serving as CEO of PMI and CFO of Syncora Guarantee, as well as advisory roles, including on behalf debtors in matters such as China Fishery, Energy Future Holdings and Ezra.  David has supported creditors and advised investment funds or other interested parties in various restructuring matters, including Puerto Rico, MBIA, Patriot Coal, Detroit and Jefferson County.  

David also has experience performing sophisticated financial analyses, often involving complex financial instruments and scenarios, both for advisory purposes and as an expert witness in litigation matters.  For instance, David testified on behalf of the SEC in a successful enforcement action and on the economic fairness of the plans of reorganization in Adelphia and Tribune.  He has also prepared expert reports on several company valuations.   

During the Enron bankruptcy, David investigated and valued highly complex and varied assets and formulated proposals for Enron’s reorganization. Among David’s other notable energy advisory engagements are SemGroup, Boston Generating, MXEnergy and NorthWestern Corp.

David was formerly employed at McManus & Miles, an investment bank specializing in the power generation industry. Before that, he was a financial analyst for Guardsmark, one of the largest firms in the corporate security industry.

David has been named among “People to Watch in the Restructuring Industry” by Turnaround & Workouts.
