Mary Jane (MJ) Constant
MJ Constant has extensive experience overseeing workouts involving multi-billion dollar issuances of securities in the structured products, municipal and infrastructure areas. Immediately prior to working at Goldin, she was a Senior Vice President, Finance at Amtrust Financial, where she managed mergers and acquisitions transactions and a litigation funding business.
Prior to that, MJ spent over 15 years at Syncora Guarantee, a monoline insurer, where she held various positions, including Chief Remediation Officer. At Syncora, MJ was responsible for working out $23 billion of credits. She led teams that devised quantitative analytical and remediation strategies resulting in billions of dollars in reduced losses on troubled credits. MJ accomplished that savings through innovative tenders, litigation and buy-backs. She recovered seven times the return offered in a municipal bankruptcy proceeding, reduced claims on multi-phased toll road project by over $400 million and stabilized a $2.2 billion rail car public private partnership (PPP) by securing a government equity infusion of $175 million that supported a recapitalization.
MJ began her career as a lawyer, working in on complex financial transactions and restructuring at Dewey Ballantine LLP and then in the General Counsel’s office of Syncora. MJ also served for two years with the U.S. Peace Corps in The Philippines.
